Code of Conduct

1. I will remember that my child plays lacrosse for his/her enjoyment, not mine.

2. I will praise my child for putting forth their best effort during team practices and games.

3. I will support my child and his/her team by:

• Ensuring the practices, games and team events are attended.
• Respecting the team rules and protocol as set by the coaching staff, including discussing any issues with the coach(es) in a calm, productive manner.
• Offering my time and skill for volunteer opportunities.

4. I will remember that children learn by example, and I will:

• Applaud good plays and performances by both my child’s team and their opponents.
• Encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflict without hostility or violence.
• Reinforce for my child that doing one's best is more important than winning.
• Never ridicule or yell at any player for making a mistake or losing a game.

5. I will support my child’s lacrosse program by:

• Recognizing that officials are being developed in the same manner as players. I will never question an official’s judgement or honesty in public.
• Respecting volunteers who give their time to lacrosse for my child. I will never in verbal or written statements, including electronic form, harass or degrade the efforts of those who provide a lacrosse program for the community. I will support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from my child’s lacrosse environment.
